Baby Steps

Well, today I did manage to get all of my maternity clothes packed away. That’s a step! An important one, I’d say. It was like confirmation that I’ve been over a huge hurdle and can now resume a normal life, albeit a very different normal. Too bad the under-the-bed containers don’t fit under the guest room futon where I had planned on putting them. (There are already under-the-bed containers under the bed.)

I am eager to discover this new normalcy and assume the wonderful role as “Mom.” Sometimes it’s overwhelming and scary. Sometimes I feel a bit crazy. But, then I remember that people do this every day. That doesn’t make it any easier, but it does help my brain to bring the volume of the situation down a notch or two. I think it’s gonna be fun. Actually…it already is. =)

Oh yes, I also packed away a bunch of baby clothes that my “little” guy has already outgrown. Let’s face it, some of them didn’t even fit him from day one. That’s my wee lad!

P.S. By the way, that’s my poor, dusty spinning wheel on the left. I guess my visions of pedaling with one foot and rocking a cradle with the other haven’t really broken through to reality yet.
