Needles and Blankets

Well, I finally broke down and bought the Addi Turbo Click interchangeable needle set. I was knitting on one of Li’l Spark’s blankets when the cable dislodged from my KnitPicks Options needles. Such separation has occurred on previous projects, so I decided I’d finally had it.

The Options needles were my first “real” purchase when I began knitting in 2006, and I have been pretty happy with them. But, the larger and more complicated my projects become, the less I can bear the thought of losing stitches due to equipment malfunction.

Thus far, I love the needles of the Turbo Click system as well as the fact that no key is required to attach the cord. However, I’m rather unhappy with the joins. The aran weight wool yarn on the cold weather blanket seems to flow just fine, but the DK plant fiber yarn of the spring/summer blanket catches. It is so very annoying! …especially with the hefty price tag of $169.95! (Not to mention that the springs in both size 6 needles were broken upon purchase. I’ll be contacting the company to see about replacements.)

So, the verdict is out as to my preference regarding interchangeable needle sets. Why can’t one system just have everything??

Has anyone else had a problem with the Addi Click cable joins?
